The Dutch universities have jointly launched an initiative placing the Digital Society as focal point for this academic year. The ambition is to push the Netherlands to a global leading position in digitalizing society.
At CTIT (the Center for Telematics and Information Technology at the University of Twente), the Digital Society has since long been a focal point. We work on innovative ICT technology, study interactions between humans and ICT systems, and have a deep understanding of the consequences of digitalizing society. With this year’s symposium we zoom into the implications of being a citizen in a digitalizing society. What does digitalization do to us, and what can or should we do about digitalization?
Our keynote speakers will kickstart the discussion:
11:15 - Keynote by Karen Mossberger
12:00 - Brief pitches PhD students
12:30 - Lunch
13:30 - Keynote by Cisco (TBA)
14:15 - Five small presentations (from local companies and UT groups)
15:30 - break
15:50 - The UT Living Smart Campus programma
16:30 - Interactive panel
17:30 - Keynote Gerrit-Jan Zwenne
18:15 - Wrap up & walking dinner
During the day demos are on display from a selection of local high-tech companies on innovations in digitalization. The day is set to include a lot of audience participation, interactiveness during the lunch and coffee breaks, and a walking dinner as a wrap up.
