Data on the Internet can be made secure by means of encryption. If you want to search in the data then you do not want to have to decode everything first. This project will develop techniques so that encoded data can be safely and efficiently searched.

Project results

Several new cryptographic systems were developed that could be used to search in encrypted data. The new systems are selectively safe, which means that the content of messages and keywords remains hidden although they can be searched through. The new methods are more efficient than the encryption mechanisms that have been used up until now.
