For 80 students from higher education, the third edition of the National Cyber Security Summer School (NCS3) started today in The Hague. The NCS3 is an initiative of the Dutch Cyber Security Counsil, is organised by dcypher and introduces students to the world of cyber security.
During this week, students receive lectures, workshops and presentations from speakers from governmental organizations, industry and academics. After the first day in The Hague, the students also go to Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Nijmegen and Delft in order to receive lectures into specific themes.
Participants of the summer school also compete in groups to formulate an advice for the Cyber Security Council of the Netherlands. At the end of the week, the students present their advices for a jury of experts. The winning team gets the opportunity to present their advice again for the Cyber Security Council.
The program shows what the public, private and academic sectors all do in the field of cyber security. With this NCS3 gives the participants a good idea of the various possibilities within these sectors and is an ideal starting point for students who aspire to a career in cyber security.
