The economics of botnet migration

22 oktober 2012

Prof. dr. Michel van Eeten presented "The economics of botnet migration: empirical data on the role and incentives of ISPs" in the track Security and Privacy on ICTOpen, October 22th 2012.

In the fight against botnets, ISPs play a crucial role. There are a lot of claims, but very little empirical evidence on what ISPs are doing, how much they could be doing and under what incentives they operate in face of botnets. This presentation shares the answers to these questoins, based on the analysis of huge datasets on the location of infected machines.
